FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
THE E-COMMERCE RACE, SPECIAL REPORT SERIES
San Diego, March 17, 1999 -- Small
business is big business to the Information Technology (IT)
industry. In addition to spending approximately $445 billion
annually on IT products and services, small business represents
ninety-eight percent of all US businesses and approximately
fifty percent of the Gross National Product (GNP) according
to a report released by the Yankee Group. Many small businesses
are interested in developing an Internet presence, however,
cost, maintenance, customer service and security have been
cited as the main drawbacks. IT has taken note and several
big names are developing "shrink wrapped"
e-commerce solutions geared toward getting "the little guy" online.
In a special report series entitled
The E-Commerce Race, Marketingweb.com will feature interviews
with industry leaders whose companies are developing small
business solutions. First in a series of five interviews is
Robert J. Frankenberg, President and CEO of Encanto. Mr. Frankenberg
served as the Chairman, President and CEO of Novell from April
1994 to August 1996. The focus of the interview will be the
Encanto e.go 200 and 300 Series web server designed for small
businesses. Diane W. Collins, President of Marketingweb.com
will interview Mr. Frankenberg in the Marketingweb.com Forum;
a Java based chat room on March 30, 1999 from 7:30 P.M. to
8:30 P.M., Pacific. The interview is open to the public, however "seating" is
limited. Reservations are required.
